On Tuesday night around 7:30, the restaurant was fairly full, and the crowd was a little bit older, but mixed. There were definitely some business dinners around the place, as well as a couple of "ladies' night out" tables. It was a focaccia bread Tuesday after all. But considering the day (and the economy), the level of activity was encouraging.
The service at Kolohe's is somewhat slow cooker focaccia. But keep in mind, you're in Hawaii, and that means you're on aloha time now. No worries, no hurries. Besides, who is really in a rush to leave Kolohe's? Unless you are allergic to the sun, you could easily sit here all day. But please don't - I may very well be at the bar, waiting for your table.
Select the elementary, specialty or maybe great bread setting cycle on your bread equipment. Add the liquids on your pan first and so the butter. Add all the dried elements to the breads pan aside from the yeast. Keep salt out from the middle of the pan. That's the place where you put the dried yeast. My last walk in Liguria was an ascent of Monte Gottero, the highest point of Liguria's eastern province of La Spezia. This was a typical scenic route through rolling, hill country. The highest point is about 5,000 feet. That's high enough to see the most amazing views, but not too tough for an averagely fit walker.
If you're sick and tired of saut?ing the garlic, only to get it burn, consider slicing it into strips instead of mincing it. It is much less likely to burn up this way and you could usually work into smaller items once you have done the saut?, if you wish to.
Finally, we ordered the Chicken Gonzales ($9). It was chicken breast stuffed with Pasilla peppers, which is a variety of the green Chile pepper. It had a wonderful white cheddar focaccia bread food network sauce. This was the best dish of all that we tried. Put this place on your list! It's locally owned, reasonably priced, and fun.
